This team is seriously beginning to make my head hurt. Sure, they fight back - but they create situations with their fielding that shouldn't MAKE them have to fight back.
I love the Mets & always will, but the reason I subscribe to MLB Extra Innings & mlb.tv is so I can sometimes watch teams play basbeall & not make it look so painful to do.
Joe, as always you nailed it. I absolutely love your art. If the Mets every have another magical season I sure hope you're cataloging it the same way as you are during these down years.
Considering how horribly mismanaged the Mets have been under the MinayaSS regime, I understand why Mets fans (myself included) are assuming the worst until proven wrong. Same old Mets until the new ones arrive!
I'm not Pessimistic. I'm realistic. And I'm Human. I get mad, I get happy. Right now it doesn't seem so bright. And as far as someone questioning me and my love of the Mets.....If I didn't love them would I follow every game with a painting. This is how I feel on a given day, at a given moment.
I start every game optimistically. I love being a Mets fan every day is a new beginning.
Just found your blog Joe. Your drawings remind me of my childhood when I couldn't wait for that sportspage to arrive - thanks and keep up the good work.
This team is killing me slowly, as usual. Poor pitching and defense will always make it appear you are "close". Unfortunately, you are just bad. Can they turn it around? I will be watching and hoping, just like always.

ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteIt is so frustrating! You are so right. The mountain they have to climb in each game is created by them. They allow other teams to win!

ReplyDeleteWell done Joe. Good to have you here keeping us sane.
