Joe! This is amazing...especially for me here in Paris, a far subway ride to the stadium. A long time ago, Dwight Gooden was my neighbor and Lenny Dyskstra would stomp across my yard... (Port Washington)... Great to see your excellent work. I'd love to send you some of my baseball stamps...for an artist like yourself, I think you'd enjoy them. Here's what they look like (from my London online gallery): http://www.keepcalmgallery.com/artists/matthew_rose/mrrubens-rubens_rounding_third.htm
Send me your address and I'll put some in the mail to you...
Hi Joe, I'm really glad the Times covered your work in the paper today. Your work is just terrific! This is exactly what a blog should be. I am a fellow artist and writer and a fan of that other NY team. I will spread the word about your work.
Found out about your blog through the NYT article online (I live in Florida). Great way to start my morning. Had to share it with my friends on Facebook -- great work! Thank you!
Joe: If not done already, add SAN FRANCISO to your city fanbase-- I'm HUGE Mets fan and your site, sent to me by my father (who for the life of him can't figure out how his 2 sons became Mets fans, as he is a Yanks diehard). The Mest are in town next week, and I'll be wearing the blue and orange with a Mr. Met cap! LETS GO METS!
When I stumbled upon this blog via the NY Times article I said to myself, "Oh my god the spirit of Bill Gallo lives on!" As I read through each and every post this year I felt myself being transported back to that feeling of "Magic" that first made me a fan of the NY Metropolitans. "Ya gotta believe!" A wise man once said. You have drawn me back into the fold -so to speak- of Mets fandom. Thanks. P.S. I can't believe you designed the '86 uniforms!
Sean Milano (I'm old school -still sign my personal letters) Peace.
Hey Joe...you can add Buenos Aires, Argentina to your list. Congratulations! Great stuff...Let's Go Met's!
ReplyDeleteJust read the article in france. Love your work and love the mets (and the jets and the knicks)! You have a new follower. Keep up the great work!!

The angst, the camaraderie, the colorful characters, etc....All enough to make this Yankees fan a little jealous!
